How Long Does Custom Branded Merch Take to Produce and Ship in NZ

One of the first questions we get from anyone planning a branded merchandise order is how long it will actually take from placing the order to having boxes on the ground. Timelines matter for event deadlines, staff onboarding, conference giveaways, and Christmas gifting, so it pays to plan with realistic numbers rather than guessing.

Hard Goods

Drink bottles, notebooks, stress items, and coffee cups typically take 7 to 10 days to produce once artwork and the order have been approved. This covers sourcing, decoration, and quality checks before the order is packed for dispatch.

Apparel

Branded apparel takes a little longer at 10 to 12 days. Garments generally require more decoration steps, whether that is embroidery, screen printing, or heat transfer, and the extra handling adds a few days compared to hard goods.

Shipping

Once an order leaves us, standard courier shipping within New Zealand takes 2 to 3 days. Combined with production time, most hard goods orders are complete within about 2 weeks from approval, and apparel orders within roughly 2 to 3 weeks.

Peak Seasons to Plan Around

Two periods each year consistently see longer turnaround due to demand.

The start of winter is a busy period for apparel, as businesses and sports clubs order jackets, hoodies, and layered clothing ahead of the colder months.

Christmas gifting is the busiest period of the year across both hard goods and apparel, with corporate gift orders, client appreciation packs, and staff gifts all landing in the same few weeks.

If your order falls into either of these windows, it is worth getting artwork approved and orders confirmed as early as possible, since production queues fill up and standard timeframes can extend.

Why We Do Not Offer Rush or Express Production

We intentionally do not offer a rush or express service. Quality control on decoration, whether it is a screen print, embroidered logo, or heat transfer application, takes the time it takes to get right. Rushing that process risks inconsistent print placement, colour issues, or garment defects, which end up costing more time to fix than they save. Building in realistic lead times from the start means the merch you receive looks the way it was meant to the first time.

Planning Your Order

As a general rule of thumb, allow 2 to 3 weeks from artwork approval to delivery for most orders, and build in extra buffer time if you are ordering ahead of winter or the Christmas period. Getting in touch early, even just to lock in a production slot before final artwork is finished, is the easiest way to make sure your merch arrives when you need it.
